Small Group Discussion

Small Discussion Group Welcomes New Members

The Board of Education would like to welcome more members to make use of the small discussion group educational activity which is one of the oldest and most valuable continuing medical education activities of our college. The chief advantage of this programme is its flexibility. Members of the group will decide on the time, place and topic for discussion. For each meeting, one member will prepare and speak on a chosen educational topic. Besides being an education activity, the small discussion group also provides opportunity to gain CPD and CME points. Up to one CPD point (Subsection 4.16) may be awarded for being the chairperson/speaker of the group meeting and up to one CME credit point (Subsection 5.6) may be awarded for participation in small group discussion. Furthermore, additional CPD points may be awarded for writing up protocols.

The following is an updated list of current small groups. If you are interested in joining anyone of these, please call our college secretary for further contact information. If you have up to fifteen members who want to form a new small group, this can be done simply by filling in an application that is available from our secretary. If you want to start a new group and do not have enough people to do so, please let us know and we shall do our best to match you with other members who have the same need. Please do not hesitate to contact Dr Yeung To Ling, Solomon, Chairman of Small Discussion Group through the College secretariat at 2528 6618, if you have any questions.
