2003 Annual Refresher Course
 
The 2003 Annual Refresher Course will be held from November 25, 2003 to December 8, 2003. There will be eight Luncheon Lectures and two Workshops.
 
1 credit point will be awarded for each Luncheon Lecture and 3 credit points for each Workshop according to Category 5.5. 20 MCQs will be distributed for each session of the Refresher Course, i.e. there are a total of 10 MCQ papers. The MCQ answers have to be returned to the College Secretariat on the original question forms within 2 weeks of the completion of the Refresher Course (latest by December 23, 2003). 1 extra CME point will be awarded for a score of over 60% for each MCQ paper. CPD (Continuous Professional Development) will also be awarded for each session (subject to submission of satisfactory report of Professional Development Log); a maximum of two points can be scored for each session.
 
Those who have attended 70% or more of all the session of the Refresher Course will be awarded a "Certificate of Attendance". Members who attended the Annual Refresher Course 10 years or more will be awarded a free admission.
 
Registration is now open. As the number of space is limited, it will be offered on first come first served basis. Please fill in and return the enclosed registration form on page 583 to the College Secretariat as soon as possible. Please also note that admission fees are not refundable and admission tickets are not transferable. Ten free registrations for each Lecture and Workshop will be offered to student members who wish to apply for free registration, please call Ms Kara Lo at 2861 0230.

Objectives :

To update family physicians with management of common infectious disease problems

To provide a knowledge of comprehensive clinical and laboratory diagnosis of common infectious disease and related problems

To emphasize on rational drug prescribing

To stress on preventive care in particular to vaccination and travel medicine

To familiarize family physicians with the full spectrum of acute care, chronic care, rehabilitation, community care and holistic care
